hi my 6v 12v auto seems to have got a problem, if i try to use the kick down the car makes a growling noise ie the power but the car dosent responde takes ages for the needle to rise up the rev counter and dosent change gear till 3500 revs, this problem only started yesterday any help would be very greatfull,

Faulty kick down switch? Don't ask me where it's located though. Thought I remembered something about the 12V having one, and found this:
