Title: Failed it's MOT...the shame..Rusted rear chassis Post by bonnietiler on Jun 3rd, 2006, 11:31am Anyone any experience of this? It's only on the near side, other side of the rear wheel on a box section, some bad corrosion, the MOT station say it looks like the rear sub frame/axle etc, brake lines would have to be dropped...Any idea's of cost, he doesn't even want to do it! Any help much appreciated Brian |

Title: Re: Failed it's MOT...the shame..Rusted rear chass Post by mr._floppy on Jun 3rd, 2006, 1:54pm Bad luck, the Scorp is not usually rust prone, but with advancing years it's something we all must be vigilant about. The area you are talking about, with diff sub-frame, exhaust boxes, trailing arm springs and spare wheel compartment, is a nightmare to get access to, I can understand the garage's reluctance to tackle it. |

Might just sell it to be honest...2.3 Ultima never used an 0z of oil 135k mint interior 4 beautiful 12 spokes with 1/4 worn Goodyear F1 tyres towbar etc etc...what do you think it'll fetch? Then again spend £450 and have trouble free motoring for 12 months...makes you think... |
