:'(as most of you will know ,we hve not had much luck with the scorp :( so yesterday i took the car for another dionostic , they wanted it from cold so they could hear the chufffing noise etc , today i picked up the car , he said no codes came up at all and he said he was surprized about that !!but he then did crypton gas analysis on her , and he said that he can tell by the reading of that the car is ill but he cant tell me what is wrong with it , would any body be able to tell me any thing from the sheet read out i hve to point me in the right direction please :'( :'(?

hi there

you're needing to get someone with an obd-2 lead to have a look at it.

by the sounds of it, one or both banks fueling is out. that's all i can do from here for the moment. if you can get it read, you need the following from warm (or cold if you want to run it longer!! ;))
MAF
REVS
LTFT FOR BOTH BANKS
LAMBDA SENSORS FOR BOTH BANKS (PRE & POST)

run it for 5 mins, reving to 2000rpm every now and then.

if they zip the 3 files together, then email them to me, i'll have a look at it.

yes i agree , is there any one local to me who would not mind doing a obd2 scan ?

Is it just the chuffing noise that is the problem or is there other faults?

If it's the kind of chuffing noise I am thinking of it's gotta be an exhaust leak some where ???

hi dave nope theres more some days she feel like she hve not much go, but then on another day she fly ??? get a rich smell of petrol sometime you can smell it when you reverse in to ya own exhaust fumes .....

Sorry it could be lots of things.

What have people said in the past when they have looked at it as it may give me a clue ;)

Have you had it scanned for error codes?

yep and none came up at all , thats y he did the emmisions test

this is why we could do with the 'live' data from obd-2 scan. :(

i'm thinking along these lines (i'm working on a 24v at the moment which is running rich)... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/fuelreg.htm

but as i've said to you, hard to tell from a distance. can your man collect any info on the Long Term Fuel Trims? see if they're rich or lean?

he was another one who did not know what it ment :( he said he had heard of it but said he dont know what it means , so i dont think hes rearly the man for the job ,
