Title: Constituent parts of the EDIS?
Post by penny11 on Jun 8th, 2006, 9:02pm
Hello, please bear with me .... :-) :)

I have a bare Cossie 24v (BOB) with the coil pack intact, now my question is what else do i need to make the EDIS work...? Highlander has offered to sell me a EDIS unit (thanks :) ) , so is there anything else that i need to make the sparks ... ?

I have an after market ECU, i just don't want to find me stuck , 'needing' another 'bit' ....!

thanks in advance

You need the crank pulley with the teeth on the back of it, then a crank sensor, then the edis module, wiring inbetween, a coil pack, plug leads & plugs. Thats it for a spark once you feed it 12V.

All them parts are the same on both the 24V engines except the plug leads but the wiring to the modules are different colours.

As long as your ECU works with Ford edis it will take the modules PIP signal & send a SAW signal back to control the advance. That's about it. Tacho runs off module as well.
