hello,

im new to fords normally a vauxhall man,however ive just picked up a ultima m reg 2.5td and have been reading about the air con compressor, the clutch should it be free spinning when off because at the moment it is dificult to turn by hand. ???

hi there

might be starting to sieze. best to get a regas with the correct amount of gas and oil. see if that help.

A regas + new oil and a long run will prevent it from siezeing.

The pulley should turn freely with the clutch disengaged.

thanks for the advice, have booked a service - regas oil dye check for 65 all in. so it seems ok - really a small price to pay for sweating in traffic.
