Title: air con part number
Post by ferretmobile on Jun 14th, 2006, 10:33am
Hello guys, can any one tell me the finnis code of the pressure switch that sits on top of the reciever/drier unit of the air con system.
I have a 2.3 saloon and have had the system checked and re-gassed . The goodly chap that did the work tested the whole system and the pressure switch is a bit lazy. Presumably one can change the switch without loosing any gas because the switch should be sitting on a valve?
Any advice would be very welcome.

Is it the small round cylindrical one with 4 wires? If so it is not a seperate part.

If it is the high pressure switch assembly the part number is 1057656 and is about £6400 inc. VAT but that has an "O" ring on one end so maybe not the bit you want. I have a 2.3 breaking so if you need one, I'll have a look

Hi Baz, yes its the small round jobby with the four wires on the top ...If you have got the whole unit, I certainly will be interested :D. PM me If you have the part and  I am sure we can come to an arrangment. Do you know if the reciever can be taken out of the system without loosing any gas?
cheers Ferret

The receiver drier does not need to be distubed, the switch unscrews from the top.

Underneath is a schraeder valve which seals when the switch is removed so no loss of gas.
