Title: Alarm going off on it's own !!! Post by 750-T on Jun 20th, 2006, 6:54am Hi, I have ben woken up the last two nights by my Scorps alarm going off on my driveway. (Boy does it sound loud in the middle of the night!) I have been out and checked all round and really don't think that anyone is trying to pinch it etc. Has anyone else had the same problem or got any ideas as to what may be causing it, or how I can stop it? As a last resort I will have to disconnect something-but what? Thanks, John |

Post by RichardMS on Jun 20th, 2006, 2:50pm Have you got a battery cover and have you had any rain, Also check the main fusebox cover, drivers side, water got into mine when I first had the car and set the alarm off, found it to be a broken lugs on the fusebox allowing water to get in :( |

Title: Re: Alarm going off on it's own !!! Post by 750-T on Jun 21st, 2006, 8:57pm Thanks for all the replies folks. I do have a battery cover and there certainly hasn't been any rain recently. The fuse box cover is tight and dry so I don't think it is that. The rubber 'boot' covering the bonnet switch is intact, and nicely seated, so I am reluctant to remove it to investigate. Does the bonnet switch still give problems if the rubber boot is intact? Thanks, John |

Title: Re: Alarm going off on it's own !!! Post by Mummra on Jun 21st, 2006, 11:56pm Hi John The easiest way to test the bonnet switch is to disconnect it and replace it with a wire link in the loom connector. If the problem then goes away replace the switch. You cannot just leave it disconnectes though as the alarm does not arm if any of the door switches are open. Another thing to check is the boot lock barrel not popping out fully, which was the cause for my alarm going off. Again easy enough to test by unplugging the wires on the lock assembly. A good dose of WD-40 did the trick on my barrel. hth Dave |
