im NOT happy.

ive just calmed down enough to right this, since friday pm.

Went to work Friday lunchtime, ready for the busiest weekend of the year, Rockness music festival. At 5.30, in very heavy traffic, 1st car at a set of lights, lights go green, i gently let the clutch out, and bang-crunch-screech, and im not going anywhere. got pushed into the side, and car towed to my mates garage.

Im just on my way down there just now, to see if we can diagnose the problem. Clutch feels ok, and its been apart several times recently, clutch kit, slave cylinder, spigot bearing, when i let the clutch out it makes a grinding noise, all gears feel the same, and no drive in any... possibly propshaft, or diff....

lost a very busy weekends work because of it, and im afraid, i cant afford to do that again, looks like shes getting scrapped soon, its a shame, as its in good condition and has had LOADS spent on it recently.

Sorry to hear you've still got problems donnie.
The grinding noise you describe when you let the clutch out does sound like the gearbox could have an internal fault. My old one did exactly the same & if I remember correctly it was the synchromesh.
I had a brand new box fitted in the end & it cost me £550 from Ford. I would have got a second hand one but couldn't find one at the time (Ebay didn't exist then). You may be lucky enough to get a second hand one.

well, garage is very busy today, they might get a chance to diagnose it later.... all i can say is, if its the gearbox, or anything else expensive, in not repairing it.

I have a few spares kicking about Donnie if you're stuck.

If you decide to scrap it give me first refusal on it please (but get it sorted) :)

managed to diagnose problem as a driveshaft. Its also mashed the hub, which i have a spare for. Also wheel bearing is on the way out....

Anyone got a spare driveshaft for a 2.3 saloon?
