hi

ive just bought an ultima and it is missing the tool for removing the wheel cap that covers the nuts and also the coded
socket for removing the special coded nut.

Any ideas where to buy these ....how do you specify the code profile etc

Do you mean the chrome caps that are actually pressed onto the wheel nuts?

If they are the same as mine, the nut covers don't come off and need a 19mm socket to remove them. If they are missing then it's an 18mm.

When you say a 'coded nut' I presume you mean a security nut. These are sold in sets, with a socket to fit, according to the profile supplied, and I'd have a good look in your spare wheel well, under the spare wheel perhaps. I would think that the previous owner would have left it there for you. No use to him anymore, and without it, if you have a puncture, you're in difficulty.
Can you get in touch with the last owner?

Some tyre places CAN get them off as they have sets of most profiles, but not always. You can also get sets of removers like this one on Ebay at the moment.

If you want the secure wheel retaining nut then there is in very small letters somewhere on it stamped a letter. Go to a FORD MD and ask for that code wheel nut remover.

I'm fairly sure that I saw a tool to remove anti-theft wheel nuts in my local Machine Mart. I've got some off in the past by hitting an old socket over them!
