Title: Engine management updates
Post by cossieguy on Jul 13th, 2006, 4:35pm
New to Scorpios, so excuse my ignorance. How do I know if my 1996 cossie has had it's software updated or not? I remember reading somewhere that Ford had updates that affected/smoothed out gear changes etc. Thanx.

Hi solarpanel, are there many Scorp owners in Norwich? Can't ay i've seen too many around. As for having loadsamoney to run my cossie  }{ the wife wouldn't agree! Just getting used to its fuel economy round town(Haven't done a long run yet) and only getting 22mpg! Even my modified mondeo mk1 V6(running 185bhp) gives more than that. But then again know which one i prefer to drive!!! You'll have to pm me and well see about meeting up sometime maybe with other owners in the area.

I think the info is on the main site.   Basically if it thumps into 2nd gear (under certain conditions) then it's the old software - the newer one slurs the upshift.
