Title: windows
Post by pedropedro on Jul 15th, 2006, 5:23pm
each section of   glass in the front windows is quite loose..if you hold it it can be moved around quite a bit..i can hear a definite loose mechanical sound when i move it on each...

is it worth opening the doors to investigate has something worn or is there something loose??   would hate for the window to fall to bits...any advice appreciated

Sounds like the glass is loose on the lower 'carrier'. Only way to check is to open up the door panel and see what is going on inside. This may help http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/windows/doorglassfr.pdf.

I had some really sick noises especialy with the drivers window, it turned out to be a lose part of the "carrier".....i have tighten up the screws and the sound was gone, also it was a good oportunity to grease out the carriers, they where dry as a bone and a lot of friction was taking place  ;)
