Title: jeater blower on full permanently Post by Mikesmount on Jul 21st, 2006, 7:05am My heater.climate control blower was permanently on "full". The advice was to clean the potentiometer first, which I did. This had no effect. Getting the cc panel out was a real pain, because a previous owner had broken the clips and glued the thing in place .... The problem was solved by replacing the Heater Blower Control Module. Obvious really....... But at £159 a pop, not cheap! Fortunately I found a used one. Breakers: Don't throw these little things away! Someone will need one. Anyone got a outside temperature sensor? Title: Re: jeater blower on full permanently Post by johndyork on Aug 6th, 2006, 10:40pm I have similar problem with blower on constantly. When I remove the climate control panel and turn ignition on the blower still blasts away - above message suggests it will be the HBC module - can anyone confirm this? From above message - is the potentiometer the AC switch on the cc panel? Assume this is not at fault if the cc panel removed and blower still blasts away. I have read all the climate control info on the site (2 hrs later...) & will try a reset and fault testing/diagnosis procedures. Any help appreciated. Regards, johndyork. |

Title: Re: jeater blower on full permanently Post by johndyork on Aug 7th, 2006, 10:12am Spoke to part dealer re blower constantly on and he immediately suggested 'resistor' and said a problem on mondeos. Resistor (FINIS 1017490) £130 + VAT - seems to look like a big relay. Time for some serious fault finding! Any suggestions welcome. Regards, johndyork |

Title: Re: jeater blower on full permanently Post by Kjetil S on Aug 7th, 2006, 8:33pm Don't pay that for a resistor. It is essentially three pieces of wire (resistance wire) and a thermal fuse.. the fuse can be bought for about £1 and the same with the wires. |

Title: Re: jeater blower on full permanently Post by Kjetil S on Aug 7th, 2006, 10:41pm Btw, it should be easy to test. It is located behind a 5x10cm (approx) black cover on top of the blower (just behind the wall behind the engine). Each wire should have a resistance of 1ohm iirc, and the fuse shouldn't have a too high resistance either. |

We live "South of the River" - and for once this is not the Thames! Have you got details of the Ford used spares company at Rotherham? Sound like a useful mob! John |
