Post by pedropedro on Jul 21st, 2006, 9:52am
when turning the wheel a clunk can be heard, i would guess around the washer stalk area, at approx 2 oclock and 5 oclock

pretty sure its coming from inside the car and not from down below...any ideas help would be appreciated ..

Mine makes a similar light knocking noise every so often.  I've found I can reproduce it by grabbing the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock and pulling side to side.  Suspect it's a column top bush wearing out - hope it's not an MOT fail item but I think it will be.

No idea.  Did one on a Sierra years back and that wasn't too difficult so imagine the Scorp will be similar.  Of course, we've now got airbag to remove so disconnect the battery for 30 minutes before attempting any work.
