Dear All

I like all my bulbs to work, looks like for the analogue clock bulb goner have to take the whole of the dash out, big job and when I do that will change all the bulbs regardless.

But the cigar lighter in the front Ashtray, is that a part of the same job or another bug hunt.
The REAR cigar lighter was easy as ithas connecters so you can remove it complete, but the front pone is wired direct to the base of the socket, so if there are NO connectors close by, I cant see it can ever be replaced.

if you wants to know how to do the rear one I can give step by step directions

If you are removing the dash then the ashtray with the cigarette lighter comes out quite easily (4 Screws), if you don't remove the dash then it is a little tricky. Yeah thanks for that, only ways I can figure taking out the ashtray draw is to be invertedly lowered by crane though the sunroof to undo them 2 screws. Sommat you guys dont have, boobs can get in the ways of some tricky manouvres especially my 40DD

Dont Smoke, Dont Drink, I just like all equipm,ent to work as it was intended. My car is cigarette free even the ash trays are not burn scarred like many second user cars.

The rear cigar lighter illuminates now as when the ignition is on, Nothing to do with night lighting
cigar lighter power seems to be on 24/7

Yep, mine was the same. However you can change it by removing the pin in the multiplug and moving it to the other position which is controlled by the lighting circuit. However it does require patience, a small screwdriver (watchmakers type) and you'll probably want to remove the ashtray assembly to give you enough slack. The multiplugs for the ashtray are actually below the dash and you can get to them if your remove the RH lower dash panel beneath the steering wheel.

You only see the front ciggie lighter when you open the ash tray.
I smoke, but prefer the out of the window option. The front ashtray looks a lot better shut than open ;)

yes i like the ashtray closed as well, and yes the window ashtray is good lol , did you here on the radio news that a woman got caught and fined by puting a cig butt out of window? she tried to fight her case and said it was a wotsit lol ::) but she got fined 50.00 , a wotsit indeed }{

nar lol but u could mistake it for one of child sweets that looks like a cigarette! and yes they do still make them as i saw a small child pretending to smoke one lol !! id have thought they would have stoped making them by now with all the issues on smoking! ! how will our health services get paid with out the tax on fags lol if every one give up there would be no health service due to money shortage or would that extra loss get put on petrol lol?

Candy cigarettes...with the red tip, & every kid in the playground would have a packet. That was what it was like to be a kid in the 70's.....ahhh bliss 8)
They say it's hot now......what about July/August 1976....that was a scorcher :D

Lets prey for rain in September then ;)....otherwise the self proclaimed planetary do-gooders (Greenpeace, Friends Of the Earth etc) will blame it on global warming....even though most of them were probably born well after 1976 :)
