Hi everyone,

I am new to this site as a member but have been using the information you give for fixing problems ive had in the past, this time i think i need some more direct help.

I own a granada scorpio 2.0 estate and am having problems with the auto gearbox. it changes through all the gears but takes forever to change gear, if i feather the throttle the revs will still go round to between 4 & 5000 before it will change. also when im driving along it slips back into a lower gear and makes the engine redline and the only way to make it change is to put my foot flat to the floor and wait for about 20 seconds and then it will change gear with a jerk. i drive lots of cars in my work and lots of autos and manuals so i know there is something wrong. the car has a full history showing it has only done 66000 miles and really is a minter, so i dont think it is due to neglect. if anyone can help please let me know.

If it is a "granada" scorpio, you might get more responses from the other site, as this one is devoted to the bug-eyed replacement model!

if its the mk3 granada check the vacume system as this controls the gear changes on the al4d gearbox

thanks i will check the vacume system and see if there are any leaks, and john, if i would get more help from the other site, what is the other site, could you help me out with a name for it?
