Title: EGR Vacuum Hoses.
Post by allenjames on Aug 13th, 2006, 4:41pm
On my return trip from cornwall yesterday, I noticed a loud woosh noise under acceleration over 3000 rpm.

Today, I found the source of the noise, both vacuum hoses to the EGR have cracked/disconnected.

Would this attribute to poor fuel consumption ?

What hose do I replace it with - anything special or just rubber hose the same thickness ?

hi there

better get the cat checked as well. :(
they can blow off when the cat is blocked.
that would explain the poor fuel consumption. :-/

fuel consumption is back up to 33-35 on a run - it was down to 26 though on the return from newquay with the car fully loaded to the roof lining and a roofbox on top too.
