Title: 2.3 fuel rail pressure regulator Post by jonnycab on Aug 22nd, 2006, 1:20am How the **** do you get the return pipe off of the frpr. I did it a while ago buy twisting & pulling, & eventually it came out along with part of the plastic inner pipe, so pipe is now useless. I bought another one with pipe attached from a breakers, but am now thinking that frpr is faulty. I've just bought a new frpr, but still cannot get the old frpr out of the pipe without breaking the inner plastic tube. Any suggestions? |

Title: Re: 2.3 fuel rail pressure regulator Post by hellblue on Aug 22nd, 2006, 10:00pm Yes, the one thing on a ford thats a right t***, the only way i have had any joy is to cut back outer then using a sharp blade cut of plastic pipe against fitting then gently trim through plastic pipe left on fitting to remove it. to fit pipe dip end in boiling water & push it back on (may take 2/3 goes to open pipe up) this is the most gentle way i have found so as not to brake conponent. |

Title: Re: 2.3 fuel rail pressure regulator Post by jonnycab on Aug 22nd, 2006, 10:56pm Scorpio Man......I did think of heating with a hair dryer, but my wife would have kittens if she knew I was using her expensive hair dryer on "oily old car parts" ;D Hellblue....If I understand you right, then wouldn't you be making the pipe about an inch shorter, & would it still be long enough when refitted. I do like the boiling water idea though. As I'm going to dump the old regulator, then I could just dunk the whole thing in boiling water, it might pull out without having to cut any pipe. 8) Cheers guys for the advice ;) |

Title: Re: 2.3 fuel rail pressure regulator Post by hellblue on Aug 23rd, 2006, 7:04am I have tried it that way with water first & not a lot of joy, never had any problem with any thing being a bit shorter but check first you may be able to fish a bit more through though |
