Title: EGR Vac Pipes - Help Needed Urgent.
Post by allenjames on Aug 26th, 2006, 8:06am
Both my EGR vacuum pipes are perished and have popped off. (2.0 16v Engine)

My problem now is I dont know where they connect to.

There are 2 pipe connectors at the manifold, a fat one and a thin one and there is a 2 pipe connectors on the "other place they connect", again a fat one and a thin one.

Now these pipe were connected fat to thin, fat to thin, is this correct or should it be fat to fat, fat to fat ?

Hopefully someone here will know what the hell Im prattling on about.

Actually, I think they run from the Manifold area to the Pressure Transducer (DPFE) ?? (small metal box thing with wires going to it ?)

OK, looking around the site I can find the section on Pressure Transducer and on EGR Pipe, but cant find anywhere that tells me which hose connects to where.

AJ, I have  the same engine. On mine there are two rubber hoses  attached to two metal pipes exiting from beneath the exhaust manifold heatshield. These run to a grey box mounted on the suspension turret behind the air filter. If this is what you are talking about the lower pipe goes to the connection against the bracket and the top pipe goes to the connection nearest the bulkhead. There is no difference in the size of the pipes either metal (under the heat shield) or the rubber connecting ones  ???.Does this help?

those are the pipe, but mine are definately different inner diameters.

Will check now and see that I got them the correct way round. (although it runs either way)
