Title: Re: need for speed Post by Matt on Sep 3rd, 2006, 5:04pm i assume by 240 limit you mean KPH??? if so then even a cosworth couldnt manage that with its top speed of 140 mph (225.3 Kph) matt |

Title: Re: need for speed Post by Kjetil S on Sep 3rd, 2006, 5:36pm I THINK the 2.0 and 2.3 uses just about the same setup when it comes to brakes, clutch, gearbox, etc. Atleast the brakes are the same ;) So it SHOULD be an straight forward swap (as straight forward as it can get that is, still a lot of work I guess) Someone here is bound to know more. |

Title: Re: need for speed Post by mr._floppy on Sep 3rd, 2006, 7:41pm G'day cobber, if you fancy a bonza ozzie muscle car that'll put your puny pommy skateboards to shame and goes like a stabbed rat, then look no further than the Autotrader website. There's a 1998 R reg 5lt ( yip, that's 5000cc !! ) Ford Fairlane Ghia for sale in Carlisle going for just under 4 grand, looks a real peach. No mileage given , so it may be quite high. |

Title: Re: need for speed Post by howiedintheplace on Sep 3rd, 2006, 8:36pm XR8 ;D the XR6 is quicker. You will need more than a 2.3 to go like one of them. You are going to need between 250 - 300bhp 8) |

Title: Re: need for speed Post by TiberiuS on Sep 3rd, 2006, 8:40pm Is the 2.3 that much better than the 2.0? I like my 2.3 but the Scorpio has a fair old weight to lug around and I wouldn't expect it to stand anywhere against a gutsy Outback cruiser; seems masses of work for 15bhp or thereabouts more. Also, the more power you have, the quicker you tend to lose your driving privileges ;) Not even sure the Cossie is that good, even the top Jags are limited to about 155; unless you make regular trips to the Autobahn, good mid-range torque is the best thing to aim for, overtaking on A Roads etc. Regards, TiberiuS. |
