Is is possible to remove the front ABS sensor from the hub using force abd then finding that it some of it gets stuck in the hub and won't come out?

YES it is, just pick the rest out with a small pick or chiesel

it is very hard to remove without breaking!

Typical right. Picked up a new ABS sensor from my FMD cost me £100. My ABS light is on due to a failing sensor. But Soon as I pull off the ABS light decides to go out. Came on briefly on the way home but has been off since!
