Title: squeeky fan
Post by bizzay1 on Sep 26th, 2006, 11:18am
My cc fan occasionally squeeks when on auto, I know it's a common problem, but doesn't really annoy me too much.
But can anyone explain why, when the fan is quiet, if I use the footbrake the squeek returns - let the fb off and it dissappears, weird or normal ??

Can't see any reason for it, mabye air pressure or something?

I did fix the one in the Mondeo (garage didn't fix the pollen filter housing back properly and it filled with water), not sure about the Scorpio but on the Mondeo all you have to do is remove the carpet under the glovebox and undo the fan from there....

I did manage to remedy it, picked the casing apart and injected some grease (bronze bearings I know but...), working fine since.

Regards, Bruce.
