Title: Rear wheels toeing out Post by jonnycab on Sep 30th, 2006, 7:46pm I've just noticed that my rear wheels seem to be toeing out slightly & starting to dissappear into the wheel arches. There is no movement on the wheels & no strange noises , so bearings seem to be fine. :) Can the toe in be adjusted on the rear wheels, or is it likely to be something else? |

Title: Re: Rear wheels toeing out Post by jonnycab on Sep 30th, 2006, 8:04pm It's a thought, but there are no unusual noises from the rear, no clonking or creaking. Also it has just passed a Taxi inspection test a couple of weeks ago. |

Title: Re: Rear wheels toeing out Post by mr._floppy on Sep 30th, 2006, 9:07pm Just check for feathering or other unusual tyre wear. With the trailing arm being such a heavy single lump of metal only wear in the wheel bearings or the two trailing arm to body bushes have any effect on toe-in/out. |

Title: Re: Rear wheels toeing out Post by Highlander on Sep 30th, 2006, 11:08pm I had both inner suspension arm bushes gone which did the same as you describe, passed MOT like that, there weren't any noises from it. I noticed the tyres farther up into the arches first but everything seemed solid, then the tyres started wearing badly on the outer edges. Jack it up and have a look, when I jacked mine up I could hear the clunk, when its lowered down again the wheels were in the correct position, until the car moved then they dropped again. |
