i have 1 1996 cossie..
is there a way of finding out how many volts the alternator is throwing out

hmm.. you could hold the trip reset button for 5 or so seconds until the diagnostics menu pops up, and then push it repeatedly until it reads "batt" or something like that.

(do this with the ignition on obviously)

Or you could put a meter on it.
