Hi all, I ve just acquired a 95 Scorpio 2.9 ultima 24v.
Its in pretty good nick and running really well (so far). Its only done 7k in the last 7 years (145k before that tho!), all the servicing is up to date but it had been stood for a while. When the battery was charged and reconnected, the ABS & TCS lights came on and stay on whilst driving. I had a similar problem once on my Rover 620 GSdi and was able to reset the warning lights using a paper clip whilst flicking the ignition (if the lights came back on there was still a problem).
I know there is several threads already running on this but is anyone aware of a similar method of resetting the scorpio?

I m also having problems resetting the seat memory, I have the handbook and have followed the instructions but I dont get any chimes and when I use the remote its goes back to the previous owners settings. Any ideas?

Hi,I have just looked in the handbook,I do not think you can reset the ABS and TCS,the book states that if these lights are on then there is a possible malfunction which should be checked out by a Ford dealer.Roy

Yep, if the lights are on there is a problem, they monitor the system constantly an will reset if the problem goes away.
most likely a dirty sensor or connection, i'd try the connections for the rear sensors, lift the rear seat and you will see them on the floor either side, check them for corrosion.

I've also seen these lights come on if the car has sat a while without moving. They sometimes go off after a few miles hard driving ;)
has yours done a lot of miles since it was put back on the road?

Set your seat where you want it, press the long button then the number you want to set it to

thanks, its only done 130 miles tame miles since going back on the road, so
I ll leave it a little longer before I start investigating further.

I ve tried resetting the seats as per above but no joy, i think the selecter may be the problem, its looks easy enough to replace.

Could well be dirty contacts on the memory switch, I would take the switch out and carefully give it a spray with contact cleaner .
Sometime the switches get dirty due to no use and jsut need a little help.
