Further to all the advice on ABS and TC lights on together, I had a look tonight.. Started with the plugs under rear seat, all looked ok there, stripped first wheel down sender was grotty and covered in grease, cleaned and refitted, did same for other side, and tried a test drive :'( no diferent, now as I am working from home I am limited to what I can do, so any suggestions? poss try source some new/old sender units or what. Dont like not having ABS.

Not sure what has been suggested before, so...

Have you checked and compared the resistances of each of the four sender units?

No m8 but my prob is working away from home dont have a fancy tool kit and my multi meter is at home

Just a thought, the fact that there was hardly any material left on the pad would that have any affect on the sensing?

Are u talking about brake pad material or the sensor itself if the sensor metal bars have been scuffed away then i would suspect a wheel bearing is on it's way out.

brake pad, but will have close look at sensor over w/e when fit new pads

I would not expect the pads being worn to make any difference at all.

It is a fairly simple system. The sensors are coils which generate a small pulse of voltage each time one of the cogs on the wheel goes past it. If there is a lower frequency of input from one wheel, it assumes that wheel must be skidding and eases of the braking on that wheel.

TCS system ties in with the above, to detect loss of grip.

ABS/TCS lights going out on initial starting, then coming back on above 15mph seems to indicate a wheel sensor fault. Staying on all the time indicates some other problem with the ABS.

Check the sensor heads are clean, the wheels and that nothing has damaged the wheels like faulty bearings allowing them to rub.

I think the above is correct from what I have read, but I have never had a problem which needed me to delve into it.
