Title: ABS modul block pumps, difference? Post by Bulgarien on Feb 17th, 2007, 8:47am Hello all friends :) My Scorpio is from´96 , 180.000 km. ABS light was on/off and on again. Everything on the ABS circuit was been checkede, but it was the most expensive part that was broken :-/ My ABS control block therefore need to be replacede. see olso www.fordscorpio.co.uk/absmodulator.htm (thanks for help..!) The old block/pump have this number 95 GB-2M110-AC The "new" one (that we will take from a broken Scorpio that are imported from England) has the same number, but with the litle difference that the last letters are AD enstead of AC Is there any difference between them? Thanks for help :) I love this forum Erik, Denmark |

Title: Re: ABS modul block pumps, difference? Post by Scorpius on Feb 17th, 2007, 4:00pm There are only 2 different units. Early cars had a Teves MK7, This one has 2 pipes connected to the top and 3 pipes connected to the side. Later cars (97 on) had Teves MK20. This one has all 5 pipes connected to the top. As long as they look the same, they will be fine. Ian |

Title: Re: ABS modul block pumps, difference? Post by Bulgarien on Feb 17th, 2007, 8:17pm Thanks Scorpius,- then I don´t have problems :).and I can fixe the problem manday. We are getting snow next week, so thats a perfect timing :D Im sure that many will be glad to know the difference, becouse I think its time when many ABS block/pump beginning stopped to work. The first and "cheapest" trick are to change to another uses ABS block, and then hope the best ;). If not see the link first in the tread. |

Title: Re: ABS modul block pumps, difference? Post by Scorpius on Feb 17th, 2007, 10:28pm I changed a MK 20 4 months ago. It was easy to change, but bare in mind that you have to bleed ALL the brakes. Another difference between the two is that the MK7 only stores a code until the fault is fixed. so if you have a fauty sensor, and change it, the fault code will clear. The MK20 however, maintains its code, until they are cleared via the OBD socket with the correct piece of equipement. All this means that changing the pump/modulator may not fix the ABS light coming on if it had a sensor code stored before being romoved from its previous vehicle. Ian |

Title: Re: ABS modul block pumps, difference? Post by Bulgarien on Feb 17th, 2007, 10:52pm That means that I have to clear the code again, after I have change the ABS modulator . :-/ $$$$ On the bill after testning, they write that they have clear the code, but thats is not possible before the ABS module are change. Its that correct? ??? If that is right, I have to talk to them again and maybee they will make a code clearing for free.. |

Title: Re: ABS modul block pumps, difference? Post by Scorpius on Feb 17th, 2007, 10:55pm If you fit a code free modulator, then you sre fine. If the modulator had a code from a failed sensor on the previous car, then yes, you will have to get it cleared. You just have to fit it and see if the light goes out. (It did on mine) Ian |
