Thaught i'd take advantage of the lovely day today, and have a look at a few niggly problems on the chariot.

I've noticed recently that my reverse lights werent working. I checked the bulbs and they are ok.
So I go and unchain the missus from the kitchen, and ask her to look at my rear end while I fiddle around with the gear selector (autobox). :o

It seems the lights come on only when the selector is just forward of the 'R' position (i.e. between 'R' & 'P'), and go out again as soon as 'R' is engaged.
I had the bezel off and had a look around the selector hoping to find a switch of some discription, but no joy. >:(

Anyone got any ideas where this switch is located, or experienced similar trouble?

hi there

i think it will be the pringle switch (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/autoselector.jpg)that slightly out of position.
i got a feeling that you can get a bit of wear on the selector and might be able to fix it in the car with the gear surround off. can't remember exactly. :-/

I'll have a look tomorrow to see if it can be 'adjusted' in some way.
