Title: climate control has mind of own Post by kand on Mar 4th, 2007, 3:21pm Hi I have a 2.9 n reg ultima. I have changed the front panel, the Heater blower control module but I still have a problem with climate control in the sense that it does what it wants! it will turn on full power with the switch set to off, AC comes on with temp select set to high, sometimes it goes off with switch set high. I have done a reset and it doesnt seem to have any fault codes showing although i find it very hard to access the setup by holding the 2 buttons down. Is there anything else I can change that could be causing this eratic behaviour? cheers |

Title: Re: climate control has mind of own Post by Snoopy on Mar 4th, 2007, 3:23pm It sometimes take SEVERAL resets to get it it working correctly. Worth doing and it may just be that the contact under the butons a bit oxidised and need using more! |

Title: Re: climate control has mind of own Post by jonnycab on Mar 4th, 2007, 11:25pm Was the new front panel secondhand?.....If so, then it is probably that.. There aren't many perfectly working secondhand front panels about anymore, as they're all getting pretty old now ;) You could try some contact cleaning spray in the pots :) |

Title: Re: climate control has mind of own Post by Jim on Mar 5th, 2007, 10:57pm Could be the satc module at the other end of the ribbon cable for the front panel. It may just be that the ribbon cable isn't correctly located. Jim |

Title: Re: climate control has mind of own Post by Daven on Mar 7th, 2007, 2:41pm Agree with Jim on this one - just had similar on mine, but when CC is on AC would come on or the compressor would engage on its' own (without the light coming on) Changed the SATC modual and it appears to be better!
