Is that all Scorpio looms ?

That would explain why second hand 2.0/2.3 looms are being knocked out for £75.00 on Ebay ::)

Fordpartsuk.com can still get older stuff. Deffo still worth giving them a try. I got a Cossie engine loom off them last summer, very good price...

I think the trick is in the *******german to english translation......

The loom you need Fords call the "Fuel cut off loom"

The one that is no longer available is the main car loom, but the dealers dont understand the terminology on their computer screen.

I'd give you the finis code but mine will be different as mine's a 24V.

Try askin FPUK for a "Fuel cut off loom" and I'd be surprised if they can't get it.

Yeah, FPUK are top, they let you give a common-sense description of what you want, then send you a screen grab of the computerised microfiche with the bit in question marked, so you can double check it's what you want. Then they give you a nice discount. It takes a few days to arrive but knocks spots off the normal main dealer service.

Incidentally, is it just me, or do all car dealers act like they hate you for 'merely' buying (overpriced) parts, and not ordering a brand-new motor at full price? The parts desk is generally treated like a leper colony, with mechanics and salesmen sneering at your pathetic purchases.

thanks all , as usual you all come out trumps, yes adowds , i agree with you totally they just seem to look down there noses at you if your not ordering a part thats only a year old

I rebuilt the loom on my cossie estate last year when all the insulation broke down. Cost me £15 for a roll of wire from a local auto electrician and took me about 8 hours to cut out and replace each wire in turn - car hasnt missed a beat since. Not as difficult as I thought!!!!

i know i redid my old one and the hardest bit was starting, once you have got into it it is not half as bad as it seems, bit like going to the dentist, but i realy wanted to fit a new one to my new motor as its turning out to be realy good and i could see it being concours if i keep doing it up ricky

I've got a Scorpio 2.9 Cossie with the loom problems, bought a S/H engine loom and found it to be worse than mine.......£$%"&*.... BUT NOW I'VE CURED THE PROBLEM !!!!! COST £20.00....
I bought 40 meters of 3.2mm heat shrink tubing from our local electronics supplier cost £14.00 and 10 meters of cable tidy . I cut through each wire at the inner wing plugs leaving 2 - 3 inches of wire ( 50 - 75 mm for the young ones ) and slid the heatshrink tubing up each cable allowing just enough at the end so I could identify the colour code of the wire.Then after shrinking,slide another 3-4 inches onto the wire , solder the wire back onto the tag you left at the plug ,slide the short length of heatshrink over the joint ,shrink it and it's done ...( much easier to do than to describe)....When all wires have been done tape them togther every 4 - 6 inches and wrap with flexable cable tidies ( electrical bendy tubing slit so you can open it up and put it on the outside of your loom JUST LIKE FORD DID )and tape up again .. job done. Everything still works because you are using the same loom, things are easy to identify becausw you leave 1/2 inch of origional wier with it.s colour code.... Kimi....
