Title: Re: REPLACING TEMPERATURE SENDER? Post by gerryw on May 16th, 2007, 9:12am Hi Snoopy, I have a '97' Cossie and I dont know if its the Gauge or the EEC but it is a genuine Ford part and the description on the packet is:- SENDER-TEMP and its a small brass tube (40mm long) and it looks like it made to screw into a receptacle with the end of it made to take a cap with the wiring attached. Hope this explained what type it was and that you can tell me how to fit it? Regards Gerryw |

Title: Re: REPLACING TEMPERATURE SENDER? Post by Snoopy on May 16th, 2007, 2:16pm That sounds like the gauge sender unit .. just unscrews and if the system is cold can be done without too much loss of coolant... Location of it escapes me ATM others will know and be along shortly...! Hopefully |

Title: Re: REPLACING TEMPERATURE SENDER? Post by Dave2302 on May 16th, 2007, 6:28pm Hi, Remove the plastic engine cover, follow the top hose back from the radiator and where it meets the engine is the water outlet housing into which are screwed both the temp sensors. :) Do the job with the engine cold, and remove the coolant cap to release any pressure then refit it and then unscrew the sensor. This way if your quick you'll only lose an "egg cup" of coolant. Regards Dave |
