Yes I am mad, I bought my car from a dealer 3 weeks ago who promised to fix these gauges, now after three times taking it back, and him looking at it,changing the clocks, changing them back again, stripping the fuse boxes and rebuilding them he still cannot find out what is wrong. He is now going to give it to someone who he says is an auto electrician!!. But has anyone got an idea to give this idiot and that idiot on what really is wrong before I call the rozzers and have him charged for obtaining money through deception.

Temp guage not working may well be down to a faulty temp guage sender.......not sure about the fuel gauge though :)

You could have two different problems that are unrelated :-/

Temp and fuel gauges fixed!!!
In the end I had to take it in to Ford to get the right answers as I could have gone on forever getting different "could be this could be that".
It was the temp sender and it was the fuel sender.
Temp sender was £15.33 from Ford but the fuel sender is no longer stocked, thanks!, had to get one from the scrappers. I used 24/7 spares on the web and got the only one (phew) for £35 plus postage.
So my experience was if you dont want to spend weeks and weeks on trying to sort it out just take it to Ford and get the right answers there and then and save yourself time and hassle.
