Title: ABS Driving me mad.
Post by charlie_nutmeg on Jul 1st, 2007, 6:32pm
My 97 Ultima estate failed its MOT, various things all done except the ABS warning light won’t go out.
The ABS light would come on after heavy braking but only intermittently now it’s on all the time. I’ve checked and cleaned the rear sensors, front wont budge. I’m getting about 1.2k ohms across each sensor so no open circuits, cleaned all the connections on the pump. Checked all the fuses. Whilst checking all the fuses and disconnecting the power then reconnecting everything I put the key in the ignition and hey presto goes through a self check and light stays off. Drive down the road and ABS light back on again. Went to a local garage who kindly plugged my car into there diagnostic tool, indicates an open circuit in the pump!!!!!!
Totally confused, can anyone please steer my out off this void?
???

Scorpio_man I love you. Chiselled the lid off and damaged the circuit board, fixed the brake using some thin wire. Got me magnifying glass and looked at the 12V input pins on the board, broken dry solder, re soldered. WAHHOOO, WE NOW HAVE ABS after two weeks evenings after work and a bad back. Big thank you to Dave H and everyone on this forum.

;D :) ::) ;D
