Title: CD changer problem Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jul 2nd, 2007, 5:56pm Changed my CD mag just now and the display on the main unit shows CD ERROR when it tries to load a CD. Went back to the CD changer unit and pressed the orange button - it makes all the right noises but doesn't pop the magazine out ! HELP !!! |

Title: Re: CD changer problem Post by Daven on Jul 2nd, 2007, 6:38pm You can pop it out manually - on the left hand side of the unit (nearest the bumper) just by the bracket, there is a small hole that if you push a nail in will eject the mag. I had this once and it turned out to be a cd still in the carrier, it came out on it's own after a day or two! Just leave the MAg out for a while! HTH Dave |

Title: Re: CD changer problem Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jul 2nd, 2007, 7:39pm Thanks for the tip ! Mine is an estate so does that mean I will have to remove the side trim to get to it ? |

Title: Re: CD changer problem Post by Scorpio_Mike on Jul 3rd, 2007, 10:14am Sorted it this morning - now working OK. Couldn't find a small enough nail but a straightened paper clip did the job admirably to pop the manual release. I did have to partially remove the side trim and speaker to get to it though. Afraid I have to put my hands up and say I think this was entirely my fault - I only put 5 CD's in the mag, with nothing in slot 1 and I think the small white plastic part which tells the CD changer if there is or is not a CD present must have been in the wrong position - CD changer thinking there was a CD in slot 1 and trying to load it. Anyway, sorted now - won't be making that mistake again ! |
