Hi all!

I bought frog-eyed scorpio '96 with automatic transmisson recently.

It's usual for me that transmisison selector cannot be moved without a key in ignition lock, and that the ignition key cannot be removed while transmittion selector is not in P(arking) position (for example, on mercedes).

But I do can change transmission selector position without a key in the lock on my Scorpio. Is it proper way the selectror works?

you can move it without the key in lock but car will only start in N or P

Oh, thanks. You saved my time I would waste trying to find unexstent fault :)
