Title: Traction control Post by Chieftain on Aug 4th, 2007, 2:21pm Last few time I have been out I find my TC keeps cutting in and stopping me accelerating. Dry roads, tryes correct pressure ABS works. This is intermitent and can happed as soon as move off or several hours into journey, ease of on throttle and it is released. |

Title: Re: Traction control Post by TiberiuS on Aug 4th, 2007, 2:49pm Hi. Check the plug to the TC module first, if this gets loose it'll give these sorts of issues. I believe Scorpius had this problem a while back :) |

Title: Re: Traction control Post by Chieftain on Aug 7th, 2007, 5:15pm Thanks Scorpio_man follewed cable to headlight and found a round object with cable going into it and a group of wires, nothing else there. Checked security of wires, suppose if this is the TC module it would not hurt to remove the plug and clean and refit. |

Title: Re: Traction control Post by pappa on Aug 9th, 2007, 7:17am Hi there Wales! May sound like I've lost me marbles, but have your wheel bearings checked. I've noticed on my -96 which had the rear/front wheel bearings gone that it was ultrasensitive on traction control. Especially the front wheel seemed to give me a lot of headache. This is what they call an educated quess, but it's worth checking the bearings anyway. My frontwheel bearing sounded like a train... I think the sensors in the wheels may give an erratic "tyres slipping" if there is too much vibration in the wheel. Just an idea... |

Title: Re: Traction control Post by Chieftain on Aug 9th, 2007, 9:13am thanks for that, bearings are my next port of call, thinking of changing the rear ones but time has been against me, no this is an incentive. ;D |

Title: Re: Traction control Post by Highlander on Aug 9th, 2007, 9:31am give the sensors a clean. and the ring on the hub they get the reading from, I think Andrew had one of these that actually started to break away from the hub? |

Title: Re: Traction control Post by scorpio_man on Aug 9th, 2007, 9:39am hi there the one i had was on a galaxy. the ring broke of the front near side hub. with yours, i'd look at the rear of the car because of the tc issue. hth |
