I turned to an exhaust replacement specialist. They claim that for the '96 2.9 12V Scorpio there are no after market exhaust systems - have to buy Ford original. I did a search on this great site, but the links I found were for pre-95 Scorpios. Anyone who knows of other suppliers? Thank you.

Just checked the online suppliers I normally use - nothing showing for the 2.9 !
OK, potentially dumb question but any way the earlier Granada Scorpio exhaust could be made to fit ?

Thanks all for your suggestions - I appreciate them all. In my ignorance I would have thought that whether after market exhaust systems existed or not for the 95+ would be "common knowledge," as many would have had theirs replaced. Living in a country where they put salt on the roads during winter time makes exhaust system replacments a regular habit. The complete system from Ford here is almost £700!

Is there a way to tell from the chassis number on the car whether I have late 95 or early 96? I have the new body/face.

If you go to THIS page (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/vin.htm) it will tell you how to read the VIN plate. The list of all the date codes etc is available in 'links' on the left of the page. ;)
