Title: Rear wipers Post by ColinE on Sep 11th, 2007, 3:50pm Hu Guys This morning the rear wiper on my 16v 1995 Ultima stopped working, I revearsed off my drive it wiped once or twice then stopped, if I hit the stalk the water jet still works, I have check the drivers hand book and then the manual from the forum, they do not read the same. Thought iy might be a relay check what I think is correct as per the hand book pulled a couple of relays they look clean, have not check them selves, then looked in the workshop manual, the relays are marked up completley differant, before I start ripping it apart any help please would be usefull. The fuse boxes are completley dry. Colin |

Title: Re: Rear wipers Post by Highlander on Sep 16th, 2007, 10:43am They seize up as Andrew says, i posted a while ago how i sorted mine but i cant find it now!! basically dirt and rust accumulates under the plastic cover on the motor shaft and jams it, wd40 and grease sorts it ;) |

Title: Re: Rear wipers Post by ColinE on Sep 18th, 2007, 1:46pm Hi Scorpioman Had an e-mail today seems a VSS will be in the post today!!!!!!!! Thanks to you and Highlander, the wiper advice worked, I tried to move the arm by hand it would only move a fraction, I pumped some WD40 around the shaft as best I could then tried to move it again, then switched it on, it did not seem to have worked, then I realised the wiper arm had moved, so wacked some more WD at it again tried to move the arm, switched on and away its gone, thanks guys I will keep an eye on this in future. Title: Re: Rear wipers Post by ColinE on Sep 19th, 2007, 2:15pm Hi Guys Tried the wipers again this morning all working fine. But when I hit the water button the jet of water is so powerful its missing the rear screen and washing the people on the pavement, has something broken or come adrift, should there be a restrictor in the line. |
