Title: VSS Sensor? Post by Matt on Sep 12th, 2007, 6:40pm hi all got a problem with the cossie which i believe may be a faulty vehical speed sensor what happens is after being stuck in traffic, stop start, i loose the speedo or it flickes round to about 130 odd all on its own, when either of the above happens i loose the power steering to a degree, its like the speed sensative part has kicked in and stiffening the steering up, also its started to activate the AVC on the radio when it happens is this a VSS issue or something else btw i have fitted a 98' engine loom to the car (which is a 96') on a side note, does any body know is the spark plugs form a 12v will fit a 24v? ;D |

Title: Re: VSS Sensor? Post by mike on Sep 12th, 2007, 9:23pm It certainly looks like a faulty VSS. Replacement is easy if you can lift the car (or crawl under), no need to drop the gearbox. The VSS is at the rear of the box, on the LHS of the extension case. Undo the connector, unscrew the 10mm bolt and pull it out, that's all! Cheers, Mike |
