hi, my scorpio has lost all its power steering fluid all over the driveway, i have filled the resevoir back up and it lasted a week until it suddenly lost its fluid over the driveway again ...? any ideas.. :(

worn out steering rack seals the boots fill with oil then drops it all over your driveway,you need new rack

really you need to have a look underneath to make sure, although Solarpanels theory would seem the most probable given that the fluid just empties in one go rather than a steady drip.

Check the fluid cooler below the radiator and the pipework, especially the bit just below the fluid reservoir where the jubilee clip is fixed.

We cant say until you know where its leaking from, if its the rack seals then no, they will have a fair bit of pressure on them.

Really the best solution is to find it and fix it, even if its a new rack its not going to be a huge expense (unless you get one from FMD) ;)
