Title: Handbrake not working properly Post by smitheagle on Sep 19th, 2007, 2:56pm Basically, i was in some traffic up a very steep hill, put the handdbrake on, and it started slightly rolling back. On other less steep hills it seems to be fine. |

Title: Re: Handbrake not working properly Post by Simmo on Sep 21st, 2007, 12:11pm Have a read of THIS (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/adjhandbrake.htm). There is a known problem of the lever seizing up on the caliper. You need to check the pads etc as has been said but make sure the levers move freely. WD40 will often cure the problem but you may need to apply a fair bit of leverage to free them. If you click on the 'diagram' it will enlarge and the lever is clearly shown. It is held down by a bolt which you can release.....A LITTLE... in order to lift the lever and get the oil in and around the pivot point. |
