I've purchased a new short arm for my wiper linkage but I cannot detach the old one from the motor.

What the heck am I doing wrong?!? ???

I do not think you are doing anything wrong, but sometimes they do need a little brute strength to release the ball and cup joints .... I resume that the other end has failed! just try levering it up off the ball this article on the web site MIGHT help a little ..

Yeah, brute strength it was. Got the new linkage on and it's working a treat.

You know how it is with us Scots: scared to use too much force incase something else breaks and we have to fork out for another broken part...

Thats the second post in two days the Dave has recommended brute force as a fix, we're going downhill ;)
