Title: Nightmare.
Post by Pete_M on Oct 27th, 2007, 1:08am
The radiator on my 24v has finally given up the ghost, this is not a good thing. After a quick google upon getting home it turns out that Scorpio radiators have a habit of doing this, and are bleedin' expensive.

Where's the best place to get one (in the North West, preferably Merseyside) ?

By best I mean "cheapest". Any recommendations?

Oh, are they a pain to change, it looks like it comes out from underneath...

Ta.

I seem to remember that a 2.3 rad will fit in a cossie.....although someone else will have to confirm this  :)

I've fitted the 2.3 radiator which is the same one fitted to the 2.0
the 12v also fits.
The radiator vanes are not as big a diameter but its worked for me for nearly three years now and i know of a few others who have also tried it successfully.
The only thing you need to do is fit the coolant tank from these other models as the 24v has the extra pipe from the tank to the top of the radiator.

Some others have just blocked this pipe i believe.

Better than £300 plus for a new 24v radiator ;)

Thanks for all the helpful replies, folks, I went on a mission today around the local scrapyards and managed to find a perfect condition radiator from a '97 2.3 Auto for £20.

So it's now fitted, which was nice.
