Title: Re: Me again, sqweeking Brakes this time Post by tintin on Nov 1st, 2007, 6:23pm some cheap pads do squeal quite a bit, give the calipers a blast with an air hose and see if the problem goes away short term, then comes back. if so, its the brake dust from the pads...... |

Title: Re: Me again, sqweeking Brakes this time Post by cossie_al on Nov 1st, 2007, 7:13pm I agree with tintin. When I was taught at college (many moons ago I may add) changing pads or shoes involved a lot of cleaning. We were always told to pay particular attention to the build up of loose rust round the circumfrence of the disc. I have witnessed on many occasions that getting a garage to change pads meant exactly that and no more. In other words no copper grease or cleaning of any description. |
