Title: locking wheel nuts. Post by hally on Nov 16th, 2007, 9:13pm any ideas on removing over tightened locking nuts,,,,,,,,, so far i have sheared 2 keys. the make of lock is astrali. have tried lots of wd40, brute force but to no avail :( |

Post by Tons_of_fun on Nov 18th, 2007, 12:59am Ah yes ,the "Gator grip " socket,a very handy thing to have in the toolbox.you could also use a wide drift & a BIG hammer on the surface face of the nut.A couple of heavy blows may break the thread lock that it has created for itself.(Impact guns cant give as much force as a 14llb hammer) ;D ;D |

Post by hally on Nov 18th, 2007, 9:53pm have tried lots of things now and am fast running out of the will to live,,lol my locking nut has a flat surface with four slots that a thing like a castlated nut would slot into ....and as the book says just twist.... i have now sheared the original and two replacements at £15.60 a pop its starting to get on my you know whats. :( >:( |
