Title: ABS close to death?
Post by sapte on Nov 23rd, 2007, 10:46am
I don't know what can be wrong, but after the first brake the abs and traction control light are on and the abs is not working anymore, note that for the first brake the abs works just fine. what can go wrong after the first brake?

Chances are if both lights are on that your rear abs sensors need cleaning. The rear sensors are also used for the traction control system.

Usually the system will pass the self test when you start the car, but the abs and traction control lights will come on when you get above 15mph.

If you remove the rear wheels you will see the sensors held in by 1 bolt at the top of the hub. Gently take them out of the hub and give them a clean before replacing.

I agree with Dave....give the rear sensors a clean & also check the rear sensor connections which under the rear seat  :)

Had a similar problem recently......
