Title: 2.0ltr 16v missfire?
Post by maddshooter on Nov 29th, 2007, 3:59pm
Hi All,

Scorp has been running o.k. until last night. Started first time but was running rough, like missfire. Thought might be because of damp evening so let engine get to temp. but still running rough. Removed cover to coil pack area and could not see any signs of tracking while engine was running.
Today have replaced spark plugs, but no change. Have tried running engine with each H.T. lead removed but this just makes it worse. So guess plugs etc should be o.k. All old plugs were medium brown inner and slightly dark to outer.
I  also have noticed a faint smell of petrol while doing
this, have not noticed this previously.
Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this.

Chris .

hi there

is this while driving and at idle? i'd look at the loom first, then the coilpacks. also check the output from the lambda sensor using a meter set to 1 volt.

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply.
The problem is at idle and running.
Regards,

Chris.
