Title: Re: no drive Post by a900one on Dec 17th, 2007, 10:42pm The new filter may be thinner than the old one and neeb a shorter bolt, or washers/cut bolt. This could let it draw in air, so no drive. When I did mine I put washers on the bolt. I think the sump holds app 2 ltrs. |

Title: Re: no drive Post by mr._floppy on Dec 18th, 2007, 12:48am Whatever you do, don't pay for it, nor take the car back, or get into an argument about the ins and outs of the situation. The Law is on your side. They have well and truly bodged it up. Insist that they return the car in the same working condition that you handed it to them or else you'll drag their sorry a***s to court. >:( |

Title: Re: no drive Post by mr._floppy on Dec 20th, 2007, 12:28am Got to agree with that old cynic Highlander. £45 ? Very cheap. I bet they sucked a few litres out of the filler tube and replaced it, making the ATF fluid look a bit redder. ;) Always check for a nice new sump gasket, at least you know they've taken that off. |

Title: Re: no drive Post by martin_rowe on Dec 20th, 2007, 8:38am just work it out for the fluid, gasket & filter alone. my grandad said............................. |

Title: Re: no drive Post by amigafan2003 on Dec 20th, 2007, 2:43pm West Coast Transmissions in Blackpool - I watched whilst they did it - they excavated about 7 literes of fluid. Filter was £7 inc gasket, fluid was £20, labour was £18 - took 30 mins. |
