Title: No Power Diesel
Post by lachapel on Dec 29th, 2007, 9:27pm
Hello.
I'm French so excuse me for my expression.
I have read the article about "diesel loose power" in the website and i have seen the topic about that but i can't find my response.
In fact, i have a scorpio 1996 with Vm motors 115 Chvx and i can't find the MAf as is describe in the article.
I have find a little piece with Yello And Black pipe.
My problem is i haven't got some power, no acceleration... It's strange beacause it's arrived overnight.
So if someone can help me.
Thanks much.

Hi, there are a few causes of this, on mine I couldnt get it above 2000 RPM in any gear (is this what you have)?

My problem was the fuel sensor which is built into number one injector (nearest the front of the car), can see a small wire coming out the injector..

Something to do with the sensor not sensing fuel therefore the engine wasnt able to run properly..

Yes i haven't got some power since 2200 tr/mn!

dont look for a MAF, the 115 bhp engine does not have one.
if you are losing power above 2200 rpm it may be a turbo problem as the turbo is meant to work from 2200 rpm but check all the basics first.
there is also a small vacuum pipe from the top of the fuel pump to the under side of the turbo, take this off and clean it, this can make a lot of difference as it often gets blocked up.

Ho thanks, i haven't got a MAF, it's what i think because i can't find it! LOL!  ;D

FORD has test the turbo (and take 90 Euros for that......) and no problem for that, so i don't know where i must search...
I will seen for what you have say.
Thanks.

Hi,
I go to ford for my power problem.
But in france they don't know this car and the pc can't work in this car.
The engine worker say it's perhaps the evr (Electronic vacuum regulator) bosch?
Are you agree?
I ask you that befor changing this parts because it cost 170euros!!!

Hi! Yes the ford garage have test this.
Because the first injector is an injector witness (test).
So when they disconnect this injector the motor can run correctly (worse than befor).
So what do you think of this evr?
It's possible that the wire out of this evr?
