I am trying to program two fobs for my P Reg Ultima………………….I have taken both fobs to bits
….cleaned them up with india rubber and contact lens type cleaner..... and fitted both with new batteries.

I can program both of them to work but have 2 problems.

Firstly the fob when programmed will
open the door but will not remember the seat/mirror position. I swith ignition on/off 4 times, get
the ping, press the bar and posn. 1…..get the ping, press unlock on the fob…..get the ping, put car
to wifes position (2) lock car then unlock with fob…….seats and mirrors do not move.

The 2nd problem occurs when I get in and and go through the above procedure with a second fob and
Set it to posn 2…… I get the same results as above but now my first fob has ceased to work.

As I got all this to work perfectly with the 12 valve I had before I just don’t know what I am doing wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just looked at the page:

Have you missed out this bit after the 4 on offs:
"Now press the unlock button on the remote. Press the unlock button on any other remotes that you have to program at the same time."

Hi to set the fob for the memory seats you do not need to do the ignition stuff.
it will work with out the key i Just press the long bar and button 1 then unlock on the first remote and it should 'ping' then repeat for second remote but press button 2.
