Hi my boot lid will only open with the key and not with the remote or by pushing the lock in ???
does anyone know what it could be? (1995 cossie)

Try WD 40,failing that remove the trim and check that the actuator mechanism is intact. IIRC there is a nylon component which can break?. THIS page (http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/manual/body/closures/bootlockbarrel.pdf) may help.

I had the same problem a few years back..... & cured it by removing the lock barrel & (on the bench) spraying it with copious amounts of lubricant while turning the key & trying to push the button in.
The button soon gives & once it's pushing in & popping out when pressed, wipe it off & give it a good grease up to stop it jamming up again  :)

When using the key it works it mechanically.
When using the remote or the button it uses the electric lock motor so could be a problem with the motor or power supply.
